You have questions? (I have answers)
Who are you, really?
I'm a full-stack product engineer. I studied computer science at NYU, joined SIMON Markets on the IT side, and moved into software engineering there, staying on through its acquisition by iCapital. I built internal tools and data pipelines for alternative-investment platforms under SOC 2.
Since then I've been CTO at Rosalynn, a chef-led hospitality brand in LA, built the technical side of a marketplace from zero, and automated a manual reconciliation at Apollo as a contractor. The through-line: I like the messy parts of a business, where people are doing careful work by hand and software could take the tedium without taking the judgment.
Frequently asked, loosely
- Where are you from?
Born in Lima, raised in Brooklyn. Manhattan is overrated anyway.
- How did you end up in LA?
Moved to sunny LA in 2023. Now I run every week with Koreatown Run Club.
- What languages do you speak?
Python, TypeScript, Scala and SQL, fluently. Spanish, worse than a toddler.
- What do you do on weekends?
Surround myself with trees. I climb mountains for fun and quote Paul Graham more than I should.
- Do you really cook?
I love to cook and host dinner parties, and I've cooked at a supper club. A kitchen on a Saturday night taught me more about operations than any sprint planning.
- Where can I find you?
At your local coffee shop, in funny-looking sunglasses, sipping a latte.
